About Me

Posted On 2009-09-18 , 9:42 PM

Finally, sharing sewing with those who love to sew or those who want to learn. Doing this for 44 years and can't stop. I am a sewing teacher and computerized sewing machine instructor. Love to share my experience and still learning.

I'm a California girl of South American decent.  I have four adult daughters, three grandchildren and one of my daughter's is working on her first baby due in February.  My husband has been surrounded by girls forever, so needless to say he is hoping for another grandson.

Sewing is what I love to do. I can't sew as often as I want. If I could, I would quit my job and just sew all the time. I am lucky because I do the next best thing. I work in a sewing machine store.  I get to play with the newest machines and give classes on the awesome Pfaff Creative Vision and the Pfaff 2170, Brother and Babylock.  These machines are computerized embroidery and sewing machines.  They do it all, except talk and I'm sure that will be next.  I am also an instructor offer basic and intermediate classes on garment construction.

I have sewn since I was in highschool. Basically I've made clothes, costumes, bags and totes, baby stuff.  You name it, I've tried it. With four daughters there was always a reason to sew, but never enough time.  My best time to sew was late at night when they were asleep.  Now, it still seems to be the best time since I work and watch the grandchildren.

A couple of years ago I got started on the embroidery part of it and it is so exciting.  I love working with all the different designs and beautiful threads.  What you can do with embroidery is absolutely endless and continously enticing.
